The New York Knicks have made it to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2013. The Knicks secured the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference after finishing the regular season with a 47-35 record. In the first round of the playoffs, they faced off against the Cleveland Cavaliers and won the series 4-1 after a game five victory in Cleveland.

The Knicks showed nothing short of hard-ball basketball, through the teams hustle to the ball on defense, stellar offense, as well as maintaining a wire-to-wire finish throughout the game giving the Knicks the 106-95 victory.

Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson was a difference maker in this game, scoring 23 points along with four rebounds, four assists and two steals, further displaying his clutch playoff mentality. Knicks forward/ shooting guard RJ Barrett also performed admirably with 21 points, four rebounds and four assists.

The Cavaliers tried their hardest to get back in it, by tightening on defense and bringing the deficit to 10 and 8 at one point in the second half, however the Knicks proved to be too much for the fourth seeded Cavaliers.

The Knicks will be moving on to the Eastern conference semifinals to take on the eighth seeded Miami Heat who respectfully is coming off their series which dethroned the best seeded team in the NBA the Milwaukee Bucks. The Knicks have defined many odds when winning games this season and they look to continue their momentum with their eyes set on an Eastern conference championship appearance, all that stands in their way is Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.
