Halloween is approaching, and we’re all looking for events and activities under the three A’s: Astonishing, Affordable, and Accessible. Depending on the consumer, these words can have different meanings.
Halloween should all be about a good scare and fun memories. Here are five Long Island activities essential for the Halloween season.
1. Chambers of Hell
Chambers of Hell, located in Hauppauge, is notorious for its haunted houses. Locals have rated their experiences as if Chambers of Hell lives up to their expectations. Although the tickets are pricier, they are worth every penny. The lowest price of admission is $40 per person, including all aspects of the experience.
Although haunting may be their specialty, they host other events, including movie experiences and dinner shows.
It’s not only the experience itself that’s worth it, but also the service provided. The staff tries to address reviews, good or bad, and inform customers what to expect on their website.

2. RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns
If being haunted isn’t your treat, Melville’s Rise of the Jack O’Lanterns is worth checking out. Rise of the Jack O’Lanterns includes over 10,000 Jack O’Lanterns. 7,000 are hand-carved pumpkins, and the other 3,000 are specialty lanterns. They also include many displays perfect for those who like to capture the moment.
They offer concession stands that sell items such as cider, donuts, popcorn, and more. Even though tickets may be $40 for adults and $20 for children, RISE offers first-come, first-served discounts for their customers. They only sell their tickets through their website, which informs customers about what they need to know.
3. Fink’s Country Farm
Professional Jack O’Lanterns are always lovely to look at, but making one yourself is always fun.
Fink’s Country Farm in Wading River should be on everyone’s Halloween activity list. They offer many other things to do than just pumpkin picking. They have a corn maze, an apple cannon, and an animal farm!
It is perfect for a family outing, with tickets costing $23 for ages three and older. They also have a farm stand with apple cider doughnuts, roasted corn, hot cider, and more, and holiday decorations available for purchase. Fink’s website answers any questions customers may have, along with reviews.
4. Brightwaters Farms
Even though Fink’s is great, it could be an issue for those who aren’t close to the eastern end of Long Island.
Brightwaters Farms is an excellent alternative. Admission starts at $20 on the weekends, but your spending can vary depending on which activity you choose.
They have free admission on the weekends, but their concession stand menu and activities change. However, their animal farm, hayrides, and country stores are always available no matter the date.

5. Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse
Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse, located in Bellport, changes its theme every year so visitors can experience something new every time. This year, however, is an experiment gone wrong.
Gateway hosts events like Hollywood Horrors, Clown Invasion Night, and more.
Gateway caters to people of all ages, as children’s tickets are $20 and adult tickets are $40.
However, the children’s tickets are for a different event called the “Not So Scary Adventure.” This event is similar to a haunted house but more family friendly.
If this sounds like the place for you, their website contains all the information you need!
