America’s biggest game took place at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday, the two teams that were fighting for the Lombardi Trophy were the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. The first thing before every game is the coin flip, the Chiefs won by picking tails and they chose to get the ball in the second half and that means the Eagles get the ball first.

In the first drive of the Super Bowl the Eagles went down the field leading to Jalen Hurts scoring a touchdown, making the score 7-0. On the Chiefs first drive they went down the field with Travis Kelce also scoring a touchdown; the game is now 7-7. On the Eagles second drive of the Super Bowl, they went 3 and out and punted the ball. On the Chiefs second drive they decided to kick a field goal. The kicker, Harrison Butker, missed the field goal leaving the game at 7-7. The Eagles ended the first quarter with the ball.

In the second quarter of the Super Bowl the Eagles had the ball and they ended up scoring a touchdown by a beautiful throw to AJ Brown by Jalen Hurts making the score 14-7. The Chiefs then got the ball back and they went 3 and out and had to punt the ball back to the Eagles. On the Eagles drive, Jalen Hurts fumbled the ball and Nick Bolten, number 32 on the Chiefs defense, picked the ball up and scored a touchdown, tying it up at 14-14. The Eagles got the ball back after the Chiefs touchdown and they went down the field and Jalen hurts scored his 2nd rushing touchdown and the game is now 21-14. The Chiefs got the ball back and they got stopped by the Eagles defense and had to punt the ball. On the last play of the drive Patrick Mahomes looked like he got hurt. The Eagles had the ball and during the last drive, they went down the field and with 4 seconds left in the second quarter they decided to kick a field goal and Jake Elliott, the kicker, made the kick, ending the half at 24-14.

After Rihanna killed the Super Bowl halftime show, the third quarter of the Super Bowl started with the Chiefs’ ball. Patrick Mahomes is still playing despite looking like he got hurt in the second quarter, they went down the field and scored a touchdown by running the ball with Isiah Pacheco, it’s 24-21. And then the Eagles had the ball back and they went down the field, but the Chiefs defense stopped them. The Eagles had to go for a field goal which Jake Elliett made so it’s now 27-21. The Chiefs have the ball back and as they get the ball to mid field the third quarter ends.

The fourth quarter of the Super Bowl started, the Chiefs were mid field and ended up scoring a touchdown by Patrick Mahomes throwing a touchdown pass to Kadarius Toney and now the Chiefs are up for the first time in the game at 28-27. The Eagles have the ball back and they go 3 and out and have to punt the ball, and when they do Kadarius Toney runs the ball 65 yards, this return marks the longest punt return in Super Bowl history. He almost scored and set up the Chiefs at the 5-yard line. The Chiefs ended up scoring a touchdown by Patrick Mahomes throwing the ball to Sky Moore and it’s 35-27. The Eagles have the ball, go all the way down the field and Jalen Hurts scored. This was his 3rd rushing touchdown which is a Super Bowl record. The Eagles then went for a 2 point conversion which Jalen Hurts scored tying the score up again at 35-35. Now the Chiefs have the ball, and they went down the field with 11 seconds left of the Super Bowl. They went for a field goal, which Harrison Butker made and the Chiefs are up 38-35. And there were 4 seconds left of Super Bowl LVII, Jalen Hurts threw the ball, it went incomplete and with that the Kansas City Chiefs became the Super Bowl champions. Patrick Mahomes was the MVP of the Super Bowl. In an interview with Erin Andrews tight end Travis Kelce said, “Put some respect on our names.”
