The Seattle Seahawks will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XL Sunday at Levi’s Stadium, marking the second NFL championship matchup between the teams since 2015, when New England defeated Seattle 28–24. Some Suffolk students shared with Compass News what they’re doing during the big game.
While some fans will spend the day placing bets, watching with family and eating chicken wings with homemade buffalo wing hot sauce as the Seahawks return with hopes of redemption and a chance to finally claim the ring that slipped away more than a decade ago, Samantha Azzara will be serving customers at Texas Roadhouse throughout the weekend.
“… at least I’ll make good tips,” Azzara said, referring to expecting booming business.
For many viewers, the Super Bowl isn’t just about football. The halftime show often steals the spotlight, and this year’s performance by Bad Bunny is expected to draw major attention.
“I don’t even really like sports. I’m only there for the halftime show,” Dylan Munzo said.
Whether fans are cheering from their couch, working a long shift or tuning in solely for the halftime performance, everyone has their own way of experiencing the Super Bowl.
