Suffolk County Community College President Edward T. Bonahue was granted a 4.9% pay hike at the school board of trustees’ Oct. 16 meeting.
The increase boosts the president’s salary to $304,210 from $290,000.
The raise followed an evaluation of Bonahue’s performance in the 2024-2025 academic year, according to a resolution authorizing an amendment to the Bonahue’s employment agreement, which was recommended by the board’s personnel committee. The adopted resolution made the raise retroactive to July 1.
Shirley E. Coverdale, chair of the SCCC board of trustees, did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the decision.
